Frequently Asked Questions
Do spaces count as characters?
Yes, spaces are characters. Our counter shows both "characters" (including spaces) and "characters without spaces" so you can use whichever count your platform or assignment requires.
What's the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word: "The Quick Brown Fox". Sentence case only capitalizes the first letter of each sentence: "The quick brown fox". Title Case is for headlines; Sentence case is for body text.
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time is estimated at 200-250 words per minute for average adult reading speed. Technical content might be slower (150 wpm), while casual content might be faster (300 wpm). Our calculator uses 200 wpm as a conservative estimate.
Is my text saved anywhere?
No. All text processing happens in your browser. We don't send your text to any server, don't store it, and don't log it. When you close the page, your text is gone from memory.
Does case conversion work with non-English text?
Yes! Our tools support Unicode, so case conversion works with French, German, Spanish, and other Latin-based languages with special characters (Γ , ΓΌ, Γ±). Some languages like Chinese and Japanese don't have case distinctions.
